Sep 1, 2017Perkins, 51, Homer City, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.He was born June 22, 1966, in Denison, Texas.John worked as a sales representative for PNCA, Lower Burrell. He loved watching all sports, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers.He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sharon (Long) Perkins, Homer City; his mother, Jane Perkins-Oliver and husband Jack, Kernersville, N.C., formerly of Homer City; sisters Norma Jo Perkins-Heiple and husband Brian, Kernersville, N.C., and Amy Oliver-Holley and husband Clint; niece Paige Heiple; nephews Adam Heiple and Cameron Holley; father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Dorothy Long, Blairsville; sister-in-law Lori Beatty and husband the Rev. William Beatty, Warren; and nieces Rachel and Eliana Beatty.He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Perkins.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., Blairsville.His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
